It’s back to the old grind this week, and I wanted to share with you a really great service we’ve been offering our patrons for a few weeks now. Word is starting to get out about our professionally curated Book Bundles, which are bundles of several titles on a theme or topic selected per patron request.
We have a form on our website that patrons can fill out or they can call us to put in a request. Basically, they give us some information about the reader (interests, age, reading level, the more info the better), and we place on hold a selection of titles fitting those criteria. They can pick up the holds through curbside when they are ready and decide which books they’re going to keep and return any that aren’t winners to the book drop.
It has been absolutely wonderful to do some real readers’ advisory and pull some exciting books for our kiddos (and Teen and Adult Services can do it for their patrons as well)! It’s good to have something that feels so close to the “normal” work we’d be doing. 🙂
