It’s been a fairly short and quiet week. We had Monday off for Veterans’ Day, and programming across departments seems to be winding down in anticipation of the holidays. It’s like we’re cozying down and getting ready to hibernate (which I 100% support)!
I had my second Book Worms of the month this week, which I teased on my Instagram a while back. We’re reading Thank You, Omu! by Oge Mora and making thank you cards decorated with cut paper. One of my regular kiddos was celebrating his birthday yesterday. This little guy and his entire family are huge Potterheads, so I thought I’d pick up a little something for him.
I always feel incredibly honored when a child chooses to spend even a small part of their special day at the library. If I know of a birthday ahead of time, I try to find a little something to acknowledge it during a program because what higher compliment could we receive than knowing that a child loves our organization and our programming enough to spend part of their birthday with us!
