Outfit of the Month: April 2019

Sometimes the weather starts to tease you by warming up a little, then forcing you back into your drab winter wardrobe until finally, there comes a day when you’re like, “Screw this! I’m wearing bright, springy colors no matter what it’s doing outside!”

For me, that day came very early on in April this year. I was ready for a cheery change of pace in my wardrobe (plus I got so many compliments on my bubble pigtails along with my look that I knew this was outfit of the month material). Bubble pigtails are super cute and great for a day when you don’t have the time or energy to wash your hair. Mine hold really well when my hair is a bit dirty. If you’re looking for a good tutorial, here is one I’ve used (although I’m obviously a lot less particular about mine).

My book pick for this outfit was Thelma the Unicorn by Aaron Blabey. Not only was this the week of my unicorn program (stay tuned for a blog post on that!), I felt that the color scheme I was rocking seemed like a mismatched cutesy hodgepodge fit for a unicorn!

Pink panda t-shirt – Gabe’s (older item)

Oatmeal-colored cardigan – Old Navy (older item)

Green skirt – Thrift store find!

Purple tights – Hand-me-downs

Brown wedge boots – Target (older item; Bonus: These are actually little girls’ shoes in a size 6! I usually wear a 7 in women’s sizes, so if your feet are on the smaller side, check out the little girls’ shoes too! Some of them are super cute and they are always a fraction of the price of women’s shoes!)

Silver vine ringEarthbound Trading Company

Kitty necklace – Hey Chickadee (older item)
